I have directed small shows like 'Last Train to Nibroc' at the Orange Tree Theatre and big shows, like 'War Horse' on the Lyttelton Stage at the National Theatre. In my own work I have prioritised working with and for women, putting women centre-stage. As an Associate, I have looked after shows like 'Long Day's Journey into Night' for Richard Eyre in the West End. I am very comfortable working on a large scale. I like economical settings with slick and sexy transitions. Collaboration is at the heart of everything I do. I am character driven, always striving for nuanced performances. I love music and musicals.

WHAT PEOPLE SAY

****

EVENING STANDARD

“As in the original production by Marianne Elliott and Tom Morris, the craft and artistry are deliberately exposed, and Katie Henry, who directs this revival, shares their scrupulous attention to detail.”

*****

THE TIMES

“The whole production oozes class...

Katie Henry, directing this revival, melts scene into scene, enormous crowds bleeding away into moments of intimacy in the blink of an eye.”

STEPHEN JAMESON

HER NAKED SKIN @ MOUNTVIEW

“It was an extraordinarily beautiful show - the stagecraft was incomparable - truly exceptional and symphonic in execution - the performances nuanced and intellectually and emotionally true."
